The answer is yes, IF YOU FOLLOW MY 10 TIPS FOR IMPROVING YOUR OVERALL HEALTH (because healthy bodies don't like to carry excess baggage!)
TIP # 2: DON’T EAT FOODS YOU SIMPLY CAN’T FIND IN NATURE
Ever wonder why you crave sweets when you’re feeling stressed or tired? It’s because the brain realizes it could use either a little more energy or a shot of Serotonin (the feel-happy hormone) or both, and sends a signal that you should eat something that converts to glucose as quickly as possible.
Ever noticed that eating processed and packaged foods makes you feel great for a moment but doesn’t keep you feeling satisfied for long? It’s because food that converts to glucose quickly burns up quickly too…kinda like throwing kindling on a fire: HUGE FLARE-UP and then nothing but smoldering ashes.
Wanna know a SERIOUS secret to not only losing weight but improving your health DRAMATICALLY?
Don’t eat foods you simply can’t find in nature…it’s that simple!
So instead of reaching for crackers or chips, how about a handful of raw nuts? (Why raw? Because nuts aren’t roasted when they’re on the tree, right?) Instead of a fruit on the bottom yogurt, how about Organic plain Greek yogurt with a handful of blueberries? (Why organic? Because cows don’t eat hormones, antibiotics, and weird leftovers from the Nabisco cracker manufacturing plant by themselves, right? And I’m not gonna even discuss the pseudo-fruit swimming in a sea of corn syrup we call “fruit on the bottom”) You get the picture?
What we’re REALLY talking about here is what’s commonly referred to as whole food: foods that are unprocessed and, whenever possible, still in their “original packaging” like whole vegetables, fruits, grains, legumes, raw nuts and seeds, and natural sweeteners (like honey or, again, fruit.)
But I’d also like to widen the category to include animal proteins and bi-products that are as “un-tampered with” as possible like organic cage-free eggs (did you know that the egg is the most digestible protein of all to the human body? Makes you say hmmmmm, doesn’t it?!), wild-caught fish, organic cow’s milk, goat’s or sheep’s milk cheese, grass-fed free-range beef…again, are you starting to get the picture?
But just in case this is all still confusing to you, here’s a quick overview of the foods you should limit or (better yet!) avoid altogether:
Your health AND YOUR WAISTLINE will thank you for it!
